Woman in hospital after hit-and-run on Richmond Highway

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is in the hospital after police say she was hit by a car while crossing a Richmond roadway late Sunday night.
On Sunday, June 6, at 10:17 p.m., officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the intersection of Richmond Highway and Courtland Street for a reported hit-and-run.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman down and injured after she was hit by a vehicle.
According to police, she was attempting to cross Richmond Highway when the vehicle made a left turn through the intersection, hitting her.
The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene before police arrived.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police ask that anyone with information call the Richmond Police Department at 804-646-5100.
