1 injured in crash involving Chesterfield EMS ambulance on Midlothian
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person was injured after police responded to a crash involving a Chesterfield County Fire and EMS ambulance on Thursday morning.
Officials with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS said the crash occurred at 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, when one of the department's ambulances was responding to a call. It then got involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of Midlothian Turnpike and Huguenot Road.
Officials said that when the ambulance responded to the call, it had both lights and sirens on. One person, who was in the other vehicle, was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
No emergency response members, including firefighters, in the ambulance were injured in the crash.
It's not clear what caused the crash, as Chesterfield County Police are still investigating the incident.
