17-year-old charged after 32-year-old man shot during fight in Hopewell
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — A 17-year-old boy is facing multiple charges after police said he shot a 32-year-old man during a fight in Hopewell on Thursday.
Officers with the Hopewell Police Department said they have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the shooting at 4:46 p.m. on Thursday, March 19. When officers responded to the scene in the 100 block of Ruth Harris Way, they determined that the 32-year-old man was shot during a physical fight.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect has been charged with felony malicious wounding and two misdemeanors, including possession of a firearm by a juvenile and reckless handling of a firearm. He's being held at the Crater Juvenile Detention Center.
Police withheld his identity due to his being a juvenile.
