18-year-old saved by Amelia responders after cardiac arrest
AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- An 18-year-old was saved by responders in Amelia County after going into cardiac arrest in January.
The Amelia County Sheriff's Office posted to Facebook on Thursday, detailing the life-or-death ordeal that took place on Jan. 9, and attributed the positive outcome to multiple teams working together to save the young man.
"Thanks to the rapid response and seamless teamwork between deputies, volunteer firefighters, EMS personnel, and our dispatchers, lifesaving measures were immediately initiated," the post reads.

The man can be seen above, surrounded by the individuals who helped save his life.
"This is the result of training, communication, and dedication from every link in the chain," the post said. "From the moment the call was received to the care provided on scene, each person played a critical role in this extraordinary outcome."
