3 arrested, over $80,000 worth of drugs seized in a Fluvanna correctional facility

FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Three suspects have been arrested and over $80,000 worth of drugs were recovered in an attempt to smuggle them into a correctional center, according to the Virginia Department of Corrections. The Virginia Department of Corrections arrested three suspects in connection to an attempt to smuggle in over $80,000 worth of illegal drugs inside of Fluvanna Correctional Center in Troy. Special agents charged Consquela S. Lester of Roanoke (a VADOC probationer), Jennifer K. Robbins of Pearisburg (former VADOC inmate) and Courtney P. Snidow of Pearisburg with the following: Delivery of drugs to an inmate (Robbins faces two counts) -- (§ 18.2-474.1) Manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing, or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give or distribute a controlled substance or an imitation controlled substance prohibited -- (§ 18.2-248.) On Saturday, Jan. 18, all three suspects were caught by the VADOC corrections employees while trying to visit inmates at the facility. The employees seized approximately 100 Buprenorphine and Naloxone strips -- estimated to be valued around $80,000. VADOC stated there are additional charges pending for two other current VADOC inmates. “Thank you to our Office of Law Enforcement Services, VADOC institutional investigators, and our Correctional Officer K-9 team members who recovered these drugs as part of a coordinatedinterdiction,” said VADOC Director Chad Dotson. “Their dedication to keeping our facilities drug and contraband free is so important to our public safety mission.
