32-year-old man killed in shooting in Hopewell

HOEPWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A 32-year-old man was shot and killed in the city of Hopewell late Friday evening.

At around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, Hopewell Telecommunications received a report of a man who had been shot. Officers with the Hopewell Police Department then responded to the 300 block of East Cawson Street.

When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Andwuan Stewart of Hopewell, who had been shot. He was taken to Tri-Cities Hospital, where he later died.

This shooting is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
