8News gets a close look at Made in RVA Holiday Shop offerings

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- For 8News’ Spirit of the Season series, we’re highlighting holiday events in the Richmond area. On Tuesday, Dec. 17, we learned more about the Made in RVA Holiday Shop at Art Works. Good Morning Richmond Anchors Delaney Hall and Autumn Childress spoke with Glenda Kotchish, the owner of Art Works, about the Made in RVA Holiday Shop, which will be held until Dec. 28. "We do this every year, and this year we made it an experience -- not just tables with stuff [that] we created -- like, here's a bed and here's a sofa and here are baskets full of good stuff," Kotchish said. "And everything is made in Virginia and so, supporting local artists is important to us, [and] supporting the LGBTQ community is important to us." Kotchish showed off several different local artisans and their work, including painter and print-maker GoVan as well as pieces from RVA Coffee Stain. There is a variety of items people can peruse at the shop, whether they're looking to buy gifts for loved ones or themselves. Items available include jewelry, calendars, socks, prints, cups, stained glass, hand-knitted accessories and more. The shop started on Nov. 22 and will last until Dec. 28. It is held every day of the week, except Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and it will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
