Broadway in Richmond announces 2026-27 season, lineup includes Dirty Dancing: The Musical, The Notebook, Just In Time

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The 2026-27 season of Broadway in Richmond will come to the city, featuring five musicals new to the area, and three returning favorites.

In a March 17 press release, the Broadway in Richmond six-show subscription series, plus two blockbuster add-on options, for a total of eight productions.

The add-on is in addition to other benefits, such as guaranteed seating and pre-paid parking availability, per a release.

"The 2026/2027 Broadway in Richmond season brings unforgettable stories, breathtaking performances, and the shared joy and excitement of live theater to Altria Theater — creating memories you’ll cherish long after the curtain falls," officials wrote in a release."

This season features beloved shows such as Dirty Dancing, The Notebook and Hell's Kitchen, among others.

Add-on options include Hamilton and Mamma Mia! -- the latter is returning from the 2024-25 season.

Dirty Dancing: The Musical

Dirty Dancing: The Musical will return to the Altria Theater for an eight-show run beginning Tuesday, Sept. 22, and ending Sunday, Nov. 3. The musical is set to live music from the original film brings Baby and Johnny to life the summer that changed everything.

The Notebook

The Notebook will come to the Altria Theater for an eight-show run beginning Tuesday, Nov. 3, and ending Sunday, Nov. 8. Based on the best-selling novel that inspired the iconic film, The Notebook shows fans how Allie and Noah share a lifetime of love despite the forces that threaten to pull them apart.

Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen

Alicia Keys' Hell's Kitchen will come to the Altria Theater for an eight-show run beginning Tuesday, May 4, 2027, and ending Sunday, May 9, 2027. Inspired by Keys' life starting from her teenage years, the experience pulls you out of your seat and has you buzzing when you leave, wondering who to tell about it first.

Just In Time

Just In Time will come to the Altria Theater for an eight-show run beginning Tuesday, June 8, 2027, and ending Sunday, June 13, 2027. Described as “a helluva good time at the theater," the show will include the biggest hits, including “Beyond the Sea,” “Mack the Knife,” “Splish Splash” and “Dream Lover."

Buena Vista Social Club

Buena Vista Social Club will come to the Altria Theater for an eight-show run beginning Tuesday, July 20, 2027, and continuing through Sunday, July 25, 2027. The performance is hailed as a "jaw-dropping, soul-stirring must-see" and has been described as a journey through music and memory.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
