Chesterfield Fire and EMS hosted “Hot car safety event” for community

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Last week Chesterfield Fire and EMS held an event to educate the community on just how hot your car can get during the Summer heat.

As Summer kicks into full gear, this event comes just in time to educate members inside and outside of the community about the dangers of car heat levels.

According to a Facebook post, the "National Night out Kickoff" event was hosted by members of their Fire and Life Safety team.

The family friendly event featured allowed attendees to see Chesterfield Fire and EMS's new tool that allows you to see just how hot your car actually gets in the heat. The kickoff also featured activities and games for kids.
