Chesterfield water remains safe to use, unaffected by Colonial Heights boil advisory

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County announced that its water remains safe to drink amid the ongoing boil advisory for Colonial Heights.

"Early this morning, we were made aware of inaccurate information related to this boil water advisory in Colonial Heights possibly affecting other areas," the announcement reads.

Officials went on to say that residents who receive their water bill from Chesterfield Utilities are safe.

There are around 40 residents located in southern Chesterfield who receive their water service and utility bills from Colonial Heights -- those customers are under the boil advisory and have been contacted directly, per officials.

The county encouraged Chesterfield residents to find information through their official communications.
