Company spreading false claims about Henrico’s trash collection service

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A private trash company is spreading false claims throughout Henrico about the county's trash collection service, officials say.
On Thursday, Dec. 4, Henrico County Public Works & Public Utilities took to Facebook to "dispel some trashy rumors."
Representatives of a private trash company are approaching county residents and falsely claiming that Henrico is reducing its trash collection services. Further, they are claiming that Henrico has contracted said company to take over residents' collections.
Henrico officials say this is fundamentally not true.
"In fact, Henrico Public Utilities is expanding service beginning in 2026," officials said.
