Driver pinned by dashboard after crashing into tree in Cumberland on Thanksgiving

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver was pinned by their dashboard after they crashed into a tree in Cumberland County on Thanksgiving.

Just before 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, crews with the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department were called to the 3000 block of Cumberland Road for report of a car versus a tree.

When they arrived, firefighters found that the driver had been pinned inside their car by the vehicle's dashboard.

Firefighters were able to free the driver, who was taken to an area hospital via helicopter.
