Driver seriously hurt after crashing into tree in Essex

ESSEX COUNTY, VA. (WRIC) -- A driver has been seriously hurt after police said they crashed into a tree in Essex County on Sunday.
At 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, Virginia State Police troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash in the 13000 block of Tidewater Trail.
State police believe a Scion ran off the road and hit a tree.
The driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation.
