Flash flood warning issued for several Central Virginia localities

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Several Central Virginia localities are under a flash flood warning Monday night as more severe storms hit the area.
Central Virginia has seen significant rainfall in recent weeks. Due to these heavy downpours -- and especially given how wet the ground already is -- residents throughout the region have already seen floods. Storms on Monday, July 14 threaten to cause more.
The following localities are under a flash flood warning until midnight on Tuesday, July 15:
- Louisa County
The following localities are under a flash flood warning until 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday:
- Northumberland County
The following Central Virginia localities are under a flash flood warning until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday:
- Essex County
- Richmond County
The following Central Virginia localities are under a flash flood warning until 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday:
- Chesterfield County
- Charles City County
- Dinwiddie County
- Hopewell
- Prince George County
The following Central Virginia localities are under a flash flood warning until 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday:
- Colonial Heights
- Petersburg
A flash flood warning means that heavy rains are expected to cause sudden flooding in the impacted areas.
