Flooding possible throughout Central Virginia during Wednesday’s storms

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Central Virginia is expected to see flash flooding on Wednesday, with the vast majority of the region under a flood watch and several flash flood warnings issued.

Scattered, severe storms will hit Central Virginia during the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, July 9. StormTracker8 Chief Meteorologist Matt DiNardo said locals can expect isolated heavy downpours, which can cause flooding.

DiNardo said this flooding is especially possible because the ground is already very wet after Tuesday's storms.
