Hanover County public meeting to discuss budget plans for 2026 fiscal year
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Hanover County's meeting on Wednesday is slated to discuss budget plans for the 2026 fiscal year.
Hanover County's meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the Hanover County Administration Building, located at 7516 County Complex Road.
Hanover County administrator John. A Budesky initially proposed the county's 2026 fiscal year budget to the Hanover Board of Supervisors on Feb. 26.
“Our budget reflects the needs and priorities of our residents,” Budesky said. “We remain committed to making thoughtful investments that ensure Hanover continues to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
The $413 million General Fund budget is set to focus on strengthening schools, enhancing public safety and investing in critical infrastructure, according to a press release from the county.
According to the release, the budget would keep Hanover's property tax rate at 81 cents per $100, which is reportedly the lowest in the region.
