Henrico County says water acquired from south of Richmond Raceway area and distributed
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Between Tuesday evening and the early hours on Wednesday, crews in Henrico County were reportedly able to acquire water and distribute it throughout its system. According to a post to social media by Henrico County Public Works and Public Utilities, water was pulled from south of the Richmond Raceway area and was distributed throughout the system. The county added that water service has been restored to some west of Mechanicsville Turnpike, though crews continue to work to restore water service further east. Water is still available through both bottled water and tank trucks at the Eastern Government Center and the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, according to the county. Those looking to fill from the tank truck must bring their own container. This comes after county leaders said many residents were experiencing water pressure issues after disconnecting from Richmond's water treatment plant and rerouting.
