Henrico man charged after police chase, airborne crash in Prince William

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Henrico County man is facing charges after a two-vehicle crash in Prince William County following a pursuit that exceeded 100 mph.

Just before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, a trooper with the Virginia State Police noticed a Honda sedan speeding on Interstate 95 northbound near the Prince William Parkway exit in the county.

The trooper tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not stop and police initiated a pursuit.

According to state police, the suspect vehicle continued driving and surpassed 100 mph before heading northbound on I-395, where it attempted to exit at the Edsall Road exit.

The suspect vehicle failed to negotiate a curve at the exit, and the car became airborne and hit another vehicle.

Police said the individuals in the non-suspect vehicle were both from Springfield and suffered serious injuries. They were taken to a local hospital.

The driver of the suspect vehicle -- 22-year-old Cameron D. Teach of Henrico -- had to be extricated from the sedan. He was also taken to a local hospital and is facing charges of felony eluding and reckless driving by speed, according to police.
