Hopewell police investigate homicide on Tabb Avenue and Berry Street
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- The Hopewell Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred last night in the area of Tabb Avenue and Berry Street. On Wednesday night, Dec. 4 at approximately 8:27 p.m., Hopewell police responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the area of Tabb Avenue and Berry Street. According to police, while on the way to the scene -- officers obtained information that a male victim arrived at the Tri-Cities Hospital to be treated with life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. Police confirmed that after lifesaving attempts, the male victim died from his injuries. The identity of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin have been notified.
