Individuals removed from Hopewell High School following ‘physical altercation’
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- Individuals involved in a "physical altercation" at Hopewell High School were removed from the school's campus Wednesday morning.
At around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, Hopewell City Public Schools reported that there had been a "physical altercation" at Hopewell High School earlier that morning.
"Our team responded swiftly and appropriately to secure the situation, and those involved were removed from campus," the school district said in its Facebook post.
The school district did not provide any additional information about the physical altercation, but said regular school operations at Hopewell High School were resumed immediately.
"While we understand the concern from families, we kindly ask that parents and guardians allow school and security personnel to manage incidents on campus. When individuals arrive and become disorderly, it can complicate the situation and place unnecessary strain on school and police resources," the school district said.
