Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden offers behind-the-scenes tour of its GardenFest of Lights

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden will hold a behind-the-scenes tour for those interested in getting an inside look at how its GardenFest of Lights is created. On Friday, Dec. 20, a behind-the-scenes tour will take place at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., offering an inside look into how it creates its GardenFest of Lights. The Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is the garden's holiday tradition of showcasing millions of lights, botanical decorations, model trains and more. For the tour, attendees will join Garden Guide Bob Lincoln on a trip to the basement of the Kelly Education Center to see "how and where the magic happens" for the GardenFest of Lights. Attendees will have the opportunity to view pictures of the event's light forms in various stages of development and hear how each year's theme is interpreted through their layout within the garden. There will also be a guided tour around the garden to see this year's "basement buddy" creations with the opportunity to hear stories about how previous themes' light forms have been recycled and reused throughout the years. Tickets for the behind-the-scenes tour are $12 for members and $27 for non-members, with registration required on Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden's website.
