LIST: Where to get free photos with Santa in the Richmond area

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Are you looking to get a photo with Santa without breaking the bank? Luckily, there are several free photo opportunities with Saint Nick himself happening this holiday season across the Richmond area. The American Civil War Museum at Historic Tredegar On Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., people can visit The American Civil War Museum at Historic Tredegar to get a free photo with Santa. Kids can inform him of any last minute gift requests and participate in various crafts as well. The event, located at 480 Tredegar Street in Richmond, has been known to fill up fast in the past, so make sure to register and save your spot by clicking here. Ashton Creek Vineyard Bring the family out to Ashton Creek Vineyard, located at 14501 Jefferson Davis Highway in Chester, on Dec. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. to get a picture with Santa while enjoying live music and food. Pets and kids are welcome at this free event, and while there will not be a photographer on-site, families are more than welcome to bring their own camera to take advantage of Santa and the festive photo opportunities. Black History Museum & Cultural Center of Virginia The BHMVA, located at 122 West Leigh Street in Richmond, will have two visits from Soul Santa this month, so make sure to bring your kids on Dec. 7 or Dec. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to get a picture and listen to a Christmas story. Boulevard Flower Gardens People will have the opportunity to visit with Santa for free at Boulevard Flower Gardens, located at 2120 Ruffin Mill Road in Chesterfield, at varying days and times throughout the month of December starting Dec. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. For a full list of dates and times, click here. Cabela's / Bass Pro Shops Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops are bringing back their free 4x6 photo with Santa, which will also include a free shareable video, from now until Dec. 24. Follow these steps to plan your photo visit -- click here, select a store near you, select your preferred date and time and make sure to save your confirmation to show at check-in. The closest Cabela's to Richmond is located at 5000 Cabela Drive in Henrico and there is also a Bass Pro Shops located at 11550 Lakeridge Parkway in Ashland. Green Top Sporting Goods Bring your family to Green Top Sporting Goods, located at 10150 Lakeridge Parkway in Ashland, to get a free keepsake photo with Santa. His visits will last from Dec. 14 to 21 -- make sure to book a time slot for your family by clicking here. Santa Paws - Henrico and Chesterfield Our furry four-legged friends need photos with Santa too, and fortunately there will be two opportunities for pet owners to get a photo with Santa this month. A Santa Paws event is taking place at the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter, located at 9300 Public Works Road, on Dec. 7 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. -- Santa will be there until 3 p.m. People can bring their pets to get free photos with Santa, and for those looking for more animals to take home, adoption fees will be waived that day. Santa -- and Mrs. Claus -- will be at Short Pump Park, located at 3329 Pump Road, for a different Santa Paws event in Henrico on Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. People can bring their pets to get free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as enjoy a breakfast food truck and pet-friendly vendors. NAPA Kitchen and Wine On Dec. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. NAPA Kitchen and Wine, located at Westchester Commons, 15825 WC Main Street in Midlothian, will be hosting a Sunday Jazz Brunch.
