Man accused of killing 3, injuring 2 in UVA shooting pleads guilty
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) -- The man accused in the 2022 shooting that resulted in the death of three University of Virginia (UVA) students has pled guilty on Wednesday. According to the Associated Press, Christopher Jones Jr. has pled guilty on Wednesday, Nov. 20 to multiple counts in connection to the Nov. 2022 shooting that killed three UVA football players and injured two students. ABC 13 reported that Jones pled guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, as well as five counts for the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Just before 11 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, UVA football players Lavel Davis, Jr., D’Sean Perry and Devin Chandler were shot and killed on a bus after it returned to campus from a field trip. Jones, a former member of the team, was arrested in Henrico County the next day.
