Man thrown off bike in deadly Chesterfield crash
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was thrown from his bicycle during a deadly crash that took place on Route 1 Tuesday evening. According to police, officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a bicycle in the 16500 block of Jefferson Davis Highway (Route) 1 at 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. They arrived to find an "unresponsive" man who had been "thrown from his bicycle," according to police. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Police are currently investigating the incident, and the identity of the man that was killed is being withheld until their next of kin can be notified.
