Mecklenburg opens student art contest for voting sticker design
MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Mecklenburg County is asking students to show off their talent and submit their art for a chance to be chosen as the county's next official voting sticker design.
The county announced the art contest on their Facebook page over the weekend, encouraging Mecklenburg students to submit a design by the deadline of 4:30 p.m. on May 2.
Here are the main rules, as described by the county:
- The contest is open to any student in a Mecklenburg County school, but they must also be a Mecklenburg resident
- The design must be original artwork and must include the phrase "I Voted" -- the sticker is a 2 inch circle.
- The topic for the art design is voting and elections in Mecklenburg County and the U.S. -- the design must be non-partisan
The winning student will have their design used for the voting stickers of the Nov. 4 election for 2025. They will also be given a plaque that features their artwork as well as recognition from the county.
