Multiple law enforcement officers shot in Pittsylvania

GRETNA, Va. (WRIC) -- According to the Associated Press (AP) multiple law enforcement officers were reportedly shot in the Gretna area of Pittsylvania County.

In a post on X, U.S. Rep. John McGuire representing Virginia's 5th congressional district stated that,

"My thoughts and prayers are with the deputies who were shot in Pittsylvania County, as well as their families. We are closely following the situation and keeping everyone affected in our hearts during this difficult time." U.S. Rep. John McGuire

According to AP, photos and videos from the scene showed a large number of parked police as well as emergency response vehicles.

There is no word yet on how many law enforcement officers were shot or their current conditions.
