Multiple railroad crossings to close in Henrico, Goochland and Fluvanna

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple railroad crossings are expected to close for maintenance by CSX in Henrico, Goochland and Fluvanna, starting Monday.

The crossing closures will begin in Henrico County on Monday, April 7, working through Goochland County and will close in Fluvanna County on Friday, April 25. This is expected to require a total closure of select railroad crossings, resulting in no traffic allowed until CXS completes the maintenance work.

According to Goochland County's website, each closure is expected to last between 3 to 5 days, with plans to prioritize crossings that are only a "one-way" in and out by completing the maintenance within 12 hours.

Public safety officials said this railroad maintenance won't affect the railroad crossings at Cartersville Road, known as Route 45, or Elk Island Road.
