Nearly 12,000 homes, businesses without power in Central Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Nearly 12,000 homes and businesses in Central Virginia were without power Monday morning during a winter storm. As of 6:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, the following cities and counties in Central Virginia are experiencing power outages, according to Dominion Energy: Richmond: 879 homes and businesses without power Henrico County: 4,781 homes and businesses without power Hanover County: 176 homes and businesses without power Chesterfield County: 1,129 homes and businesses without power Goochland County: 905 homes and businesses without power Powhatan County: 2,707 homes and businesses without power Buckingham County: 449 homes and businesses without power Cumberland County: 645 homes and businesses without power Prince Edward County: 181 homes and businesses without power To view the estimated time of restoration for an outage in your area, visit Dominion Energy's website. Dominion Energy posted the following statement to its Facebook at 1 p.m. on Monday: "Our crews are working to restore power to the nearly 90,000 customers impacted by wet snow and ice across Central, Western, and Southside Virginia. The hardest-hit areas include Metro Richmond, Farmville, and Altavista.​ After a storm, we first focus on restoring power to hospitals, critical services, as well as the areas with the largest number of outages.
