8News spoke with neighbor Antoine Chambers as he questioned the cause of the incident.
"How? Like, how did it happen," Chambers said. "Is it the root -- if it wasn't the wind, cause the wind isn't knocking down a fully grown tree, so, how?"
Fire officials at the scene informed 8News that the two people inside the home at the time the tree fell were non-ambulatory and could not get out on their own. Firefighters proceeded to go into the home and got both residents out, eventually taking them to the hospital.
As the investigation into the incident continues, 8News has reached out to officials to find out what caused the tree to fall.
