The documentary has made the shortlist for Documentary Feature Films in the 97th Academy Awards. There were 169 documentary films that were eligible for the category, in which members from the Documentary Branch vote to select the shortlist and the nominees. According to the Academy Awards website, the following documentary films were shortlisted: "The Bibi Files" "Black Box Diaries" "Dahomey" "Daughters" "Eno" "Frida" "Hollywoodgate" "No Other Land" "Porcelain War" "Queendom" "The Remarkable Life of Ibelin" "Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat" "Sugarcane" "Union" "Will & Harper" In January, viewers will officially know if "Daughters" will be nominated for the Oscars.
