PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A person fell down an embankment Thursday afternoon after a portion of James River Drive they were traveling on began to collapse.
At around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, Prince George County Fire and EMS units were dispatched to Afton Drive, near the 10000 block of James River Drive, for the report of a sinking or submerged vehicle.

The caller said they were driving when they noticed the road beginning to give way, prompting them to exit the vehicle and fall down the embankment.
When crews arrived on scene they initiated a "technical rescue operation," due to the terrain and access challenges, to safely remove the person from the embankment, per authorities.
The individual was then evaluated at the scene and taken to a local hospital.
