RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Glittering floats, large holiday balloons and music from local school bands filled Broad Street in Richmond for the Dominion Energy Christmas Parade on Saturday. On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Dominion Energy Christmas Parade began at the Science Museum of Virginia, traveling eastbound on Broad Street and ending at 7th Street. Richmond resident Erin Cote attended Saturday's event and said she would go to the parade a lot as a child. "I like the school bands. I like the floats. I feel like that draws a lot of attraction and the kids love that too," Cote said. Cote said this year's parade was her son Cooper's first parade. "I hope that [Cooper] remembers that we did it as a family, and that he eventually takes his kids [to the parade] if he's still in Richmond," Cote said.
