RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — It's hard to miss the newest establishment in The Fan.

Passion Project, sporting a rainbow facade with vibrant pops of colors, celebrated its opening with a launch party at its new location on West Grace Street. The art collective serves as a community-focused third place for local artists in Richmond, hosting workshops, events and more throughout its years of operations.

The new space was months in the making. Passion Project previously closed its doors between January and March to prepare for the move after its owner took to social media to announce that the store had outgrown the previous space within one and a half years in business.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, Passion Project welcomed dozens of patrons and community members to the grand opening. The event featured face painting, a food truck, a DJ and activities like bracelet making for attendees.

The West Grace Street space is also now home to a local art claw machine.
