Prince George County PE teacher charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A physical health and education teacher at N.B. Clements Junior High School in Prince George County has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor following an alleged incident in May.

According to court records, Joshua Lashbrook has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship.

The alleged incident took place on May 1, according to court records, and Lashbrook was arrested on Wednesday, July 16. He is slated for a bond hearing on Thursday, July 24.

A Prince George County Public Schools spokesperson said Lashbrook is a health and physical education teacher at N.B. Clements Junior High School who has been placed on administrative leave after allegations surfaced.

Lashbrook will remain on leave, per district policy, and is prohibited from being on school grounds or interacting with students and staff pending the outcome of the police investigation, according to school officials.

"Prince George County Public Schools takes allegations of this nature seriously and our district continues to offer its resources to local authorities as part of their active investigation," the spokesperson said.

School officials said additional information cannot be shared due to the situation being an "ongoing personnel matter."
