Richmond’s Riverfront tours are taking an eerie turn
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Richmond's Riverfront Canal is about to take an eerie turn as Richmond is set to host its "Eerie Canal Tours" starting Halloween Day.
The boat tours will begin Oct. 31, Halloween Day, to Nov. 2 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The boat rides will be done in 20 minute sessions and will leave every half hour on the hour and half hour, with the last boat ride departing at 8:30 p.m.
According to Venture Richmond, this year's tour will take passengers along "a chilling adventure to investigate strange and monstrous occurrences along Richmond's riverfront."
Passengers will fill in for the boat's captain in order to find a, "mysterious monster" plaguing Richmond's riverfront.
Guests on the boat will then be transported downstream on the James River and Kanawha Canal while witnessing spooky décor and surprises as they face the "aquatic peril that lurks just below the surface."
Kids are also welcomed to participate in the fun as "little ghouls and ghosts" who attend will receive a special candy treat, however, according to Venture Richmond, this event is best suited for kids seven and older.
Tickets for the canal tour will go on sale Oct. 1 and are only available online. Admission is $6 and kids aged four and under are free.
The departure location for boat rides will be from the Canal Walk's Turning Basin at 139 Virginia St.
