Rockwood Park to undergo temporary traffic pattern changes
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- As Rockwood Park celebrates its 50th anniversary over the weekend, drivers can expect changes to traffic patterns until further notice.
According to a social post from the county's Parks and Recreation, the entrance to Rockwood Park from Courthouse Road will be closed while construction is in progress.
The county advises residents to enter the park from Hull Street Road or Route 360 during the construction. Meanwhile, parking will be directed to the front lots near the playground or toward the pickleball courts, with exit only at the traffic light on Courthouse Road.

Traffic will be "going against the usual one way pattern" while construction is in progress, according to the county.
"The work being done is to enhance pedestrian safety with speed tables and more distinctly differentiated pedestrian lane," the county said. "Thank you for your patience while improvements are being made to the loop around the park.'
