Sentara to bring physical therapy, virtual cardiology services to King and Queen County
KING AND QUEEN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Sentara services will be coming to King and Queen County in the near future, offering on-site physical therapy to virtual cardiology appointments. Officials have yet to provide an opening date for the new location.
According to a release from the King and Queen Sheriff's Office, the new facility will be located at 4521 Lewis B. Puller Memorial Highway, Suite 300, in Shacklefords. It will operate as part of Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, with officials saying the new location will serve as resource for local families accessing medical care and services.
Services available at this new location are expected to include the following:
- Sentara Therapy Center
- Sentara Virtual Care
- Additional virtual physician specialists
- Lab testing services
The virtual cardiology visits will allow patients to connect with Sentara cardiologists in real time. During these appointments, the cardiologist will assess the patient's medical condition, create a treatment plan and if needed, submit a prescription to the patient's pharmacy, according to Sentara officials.
"We understand that sometimes people are given challenges, hurdles they never expected to face," the Sentara website reads. "If you're experiencing a physical disability through injury or illness, the caring, experienced professionals at our Sentara Therapy Center in King and Queen County can help you reach your maximum independence.
