Shenandoah National Park to host annual Wildflower Weekend in May

LURAY, Va. (WRIC) -- Shenandoah National Park recently announced that their annual Wildflower Weekend will take place in early May this year.

According to a post made by the park, the celebration will happen on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11 and will include guided hikes as well as programs that highlight the hundreds of spring wildflowers protected throughout the park.

There will also be artwork showcased at a ceremony held in the Byrd Visitor Center courtesy of the park's Youth Wildflower Art Contest.

People of all ages are welcome to participate in all programs, which are free and do not require registration.
