StormTracker 8: Rain exits this morning followed by sunshine

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) - Rain will be around for the morning commute, but it should come to an end between 10:00 a.m. and noon today and during the afternoon the sunshine will make a return. It will be a comfortable day especially compared to the past couple of days with highs in the lower 50s.

Tonight, we will have clear skies and it will be cold with lows 25 to 30 and that's going to present to problem for areas to the north and west that have a snow and ice pack this morning that the rain will not fully wash away. Some areas that will remain wet throughout the overnight will certainly ice down and icy spots are possible to the north and west by early Friday morning so be mindful of that for Friday mornings commute.

For Friday, Valentine's Day, we will see mostly sunny skies and it will be seasonally cool with highs in the middle 40s.

Our next weather system will slide into Central Virginia on Saturday and that could bring a brief wintry mix at the start, but the majority of that storm will be rain. Our high temperatures will be in the middle 40s.

Rain is likely for Saturday night and that will continue into Sunday before ending during the early afternoon. Sunday will be a mild day with highs near 60 and there's the chance we could have some late day sunshine.

Partly sunny skies will be with us for Monday and Tuesday with highs around 45.

Our next weather system comes in on Wednesday and right now that has the potential to be a wintry mix or snow for Central Virginia with highs in the upper 30s.

That system will exit early Thursday, and we might get some late day sunshine with highs in the lower 40s.
