StormTracker 8: Warmer, but wet for the weekend

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- It will be a warmer, but wet weekend with above average temperatures expected. Some strong storms may also be around tomorrow evening. It is a wet start to the day and light spotty showers will continue throughout the day under mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 50s. Tonight, a few lingering showers may be around and temperatures will only drop a few degrees into the middle 50s. Fog will develop for some of us by early tomorrow morning. Temperatures tomorrow will be even warmer with highs near 70. The beginning half of the day will be mainly quiet with heavier and steadier rain not moving in until the afternoon. We may even start off the day with some sunshine. A steady line of rain will move in by 2pm and some strong to severe storms could also be embedded in this line. The main threat will be damaging winds. Overnight rain will slowly taper and temperatures will drop to near 50. Mild temperatures stay with us to end off the year with partly sunny skies on Monday. The last day of 2024, Tuesday, looks to be wet with the risk of showers around once again. Cooler temperatures move in for the start of 2025 with highs on Wednesday near the middle 50s and highs Thursday back into the 40s. Mostly sunny to partly sunny skies continue through the end of the week into next weekend.
