Suspect allegedly steals copper cable spools from Hopewell manufacturing plant
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- Hopewell Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an attempted larceny that took place in October. According to police, officers responded to WestRock -- located at 910 Industrial Street -- on Oct. 29 at 9:14 a.m. for a reported vandalism incident and an attempted theft of copper cable spools. When officers arrived, they found evidence of an apparent failed attempt to steal valuable copper materials as well as property damage. The suspect was captured on video surveillance footage when he arrived at the scene before the larceny attempt. Photographs of the suspect and their vehicle can be seen below. The Hopewell Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit has begun an investigation into this incident and they are asking anyone with information to contact the unit at 804-541-2284.
