Teen accused of cutting two students with bladed instrument at J.R. Tucker High School, police say

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A teenager is facing two malicious wounding charges after police say he used a small, bladed instrument to cut two other students at J.R. Tucker High School on Halloween.

At around 11:05 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, administrators at J.R. Tucker High School and Henrico Police School Resource Officers (SROs) responded to an incident in the school hallway.

When officers arrived, they found two teenage boys -- ages 14 and 15 -- with cuts to the arm and hand.

A third teenage boy, also 15, was detained and taken for questioning, according to the Henrico County Police Division.

Police said a preliminary investigation shows that the suspect used a small, bladed instrument to cut two other teenagers in the hallway of the high school, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.

Both students were treated by the school nurse, and one was later taken to a hospital for additional treatment.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and that there was no disruption to the school day.

Petitions for two counts of malicious wounding are being obtained against the student. He was taken and admitted to the Henrico County Juvenile Detention Home.

No further details are available as of the time of reporting.
