Tractor trailer fire, collision close all lanes on I-95 South in Sussex County

SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- All travel lanes are closed on Interstate 95 South in Sussex County due to multiple crashes.
Around 7:15 a.m., Virginia State Police responded to a tractor trailer fire on I-95 South. Authorities said the tractor trailer was filled with bottled water, however, the driver was not injured.
According to the press release from state police, a two-vehicle crash occurred at 10:40 a.m., while crews were still cleaning the area where the tractor trailer fire took place.
The investigation determined that while traffic slowed down from the lane closures, a driver of a box truck failed to slow down and hit the back of a tractor trailer.
The driver of the box truck was 46-year-old Milomir Mitrovic of Illinois, who was seriously injured from the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital in Petersburg.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), all travel lanes on I-95 South in Sussex County are closed near exit 25 and 26 by Route 645 due to multiple crashes.
The department said drivers are being directed to exit 31 at Stoney Creek and Waverly.
