Two kayakers are safe after being stranded on James River

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) --Two kayakers are now safe after they were stranded on the James River near Dutch Gap Saturday, July, 12.

Chesterfield County Fire and EMS received the call at 2 p.m. during Saturday's storm swept through the area.

According to a Facebook post from the County, firefighters on Boat 218 and members of Chesterfield Fire and EMS Scuba Rescue Team were called to help the kayakers.

Firefighters and crews were able to locate them and rescue them back to shore with no reported injuries.
