Two men charged with murder after teenage girl shot dead in Henrico motel

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two men are facing murder charges after a teenage girl was found dead in a Henrico County motel in early December.

At 1:35 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, officers with the Henrico County Police Division were called to a motel in the 2100 block of Dickens Road for a reported shooting.

When they arrived, officers entered a motel room to find that two people -- a woman and a 17-year-old girl -- had been shot.

The woman was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were serious, but not considered life-threatening. The teenager died at the scene.

Several days later, on Thursday, Dec. 11, police announced that two arrests had been made in connection with the girl's death. Two 18-year-old men from Henrico County, Kyre Omari Martin and Khalid Rashad Price, have been charged with her second-degree murder.

Police previously said that there was evidence that the shooting was related to a large gathering involving multiple juveniles. However, no further details are available as of the time of reporting.

"Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of what led up to the shooting," police said.
