Vehicle catches fire near Hanover intersection

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A vehicle caught fire near an intersection in Hanover County Wednesday afternoon.
A vehicle was fully engulfed in flames near the intersection of Chamberlayne and Atlee roads in Hanover County in the afternoon on Wednesday, July 23, according to a spokesperson for Hanover County Fire and EMS.
Crews then arrived and extinguished the fire, officials said. It is not yet known if there were any injuries.
In the aftermath, the spokesperson said the roadway is being evaluated for possible damage by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Crews reportedly remain at the scene.
