Zac Brown, Maggie Rogers to perform at UVA for Contemplative Sciences Center

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) – In celebration of the new Contemplative Sciences Center at the University of Virginia (UVA), the Zac Brown Band is set to perform with a special guest. The university announced that there will be a benefit concert featuring the Zac Brown Band, special guest Maggie Rogers and comedian Joe Zimmerman on Saturday, April 5, at 8 p.m. The performance will be held at the John Paul Jones Arena, and tickets will go on sale Friday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. In addition to her performance, Maggie Rogers will receive the inaugural Contemplation in Action Award, to celebrate her accomplishments on and off the stage. “The music Maggie composes, and scholarship are authentic contemplations of her views and feelings on love, wellbeing, and community and are deeply aligned with the CSC’s values. We are thrilled to honor her with our Contemplation in Action award,” said Jeffrey Walker Contemplative Sciences Center Board Chair. According to a press release from UVA, the center has catalyzed research and programs that focus on contemplation, connection and well-being.
