Car stolen from VCU Medical Center parking deck on New Year’s Eve
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Police are investigating after a car was reportedly stolen from a Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center parking deck on New Year's Eve. Just after 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, officers with VCU Police took a report of a stolen vehicle from the Visitor's Deck located at 1220 E. Clay St. in Richmond. According to police, the victim parked their red 2012 Chevy Cruz -- with a Virginia license plate of WPJ-4654 -- on level P5 at about 7 a.m. on Tuesday. They then went to attend an appointment. "They later realized their items were missing, including their car keys," VCU Police said. "It was subsequently determined that their car was also missing." Over $10,000 raised by tournament honoring Chesterfield student athletes killed in crash VCU Police described the suspect in this theft as a 42-year-old Black woman with black hair and brown eyes. She is reportedly about 4'10" tall and is said to weigh about 110 lbs. At the time of the theft, she may have been wearing faded jeans.
