CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A dog was rescued from an icy ravine by Chesterfield firefighters on Wednesday morning.
In the morning on Wednesday, Jan. 28, Chesterfield County Fire and EMS shared on social media that firefighters were called to help rescue a dog who fell several hundred feet down a ravine.
According to officials, the dog fell into the ravine near Anchor Landing Court because of the icy conditions in his yard following the winter storm.

Firefighters were able to carry out a "low-angle rescue" to reach the dog and bring him to safety.
Although officials said the dog was a bit cold from low temperatures, officials said he was rescued safely and reunited with his family.
"He was a little cold... but is okay and was very happy to be reunited with his owners," officials said in the post.
