Driver seriously hurt after 3-vehicle crash on I-64 West in Louisa

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver is seriously hurt after a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 West in Louisa County on Monday.
Just before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, state troopers with Virginia State Police were called to I-64 westbound in the area of Poindexter Road for report of a crash. The crash involved a tractor-trailer, an overturned pickup truck and a third vehicle.
According to state police, a Toyota Highlander rear-ended the pickup truck, causing the pickup to hit the tractor-trailer and flip into the right shoulder. The Highlander then hit the back of the tractor-trailer.
The driver of the Highlander was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
